A Junior High School Poem

Here's the program notes Slamdance programmer Sarah Diamond wrote for A Catalog Of Anticipations:

"A mixture of a junior high school poem and a Svankmajer movie. David Lowery combines live- action and animation expertly, creating a dark film even Henry Darger would be proud of."

Svankmajer and Darger? Exceptional comparisons indeed.

One week from now and we'll be in Park City! I've got so much to do between now and then that I'm sort of backfiring and not doing anything. I might have to cut the trip short, just to be responsible to the film I'm scheduled to start shooting less than two weeks after my return - but hopefully everything will fall into place over the next few days and I'll get to stay for the duration. I'm looking forward to having late night and early morning production meetings over Skype. Hopefully our condo has WiFi - although if it doesn't, I might be able to siphon a signal from the Slamdance Filmmakers' Lounge, since we're going to be staying next door to their headquarters on Main Street.

Dude! You're going to Slamdance?! I'm sooooo jealous, man! You swarmy bastard!

Guess what movie I'm watching? I'll give you a hint. It's all about LOVE and it's totally, really a film that Clay ACTUALLY hates! Yay!! Solid gold, baby! Solid gold!
