Up until a few months ago, I'd always written my scripts in Movie Magic Screenwriter; then I switched to Final Draft for a specific projec, and I've been using that almost exclusively until just now, when I opened up MMS to do some revisions to The Outlaw Son. What an unexpected relief! The intuition is so much stronger in MMS.
There was a time when I resisted screenwriting software, when I was proud of my expertise with the Tab key in MS Word. In other words, there was a time when I like wasting time.
Like right now.
It's December already?

David, how's the prepping for the film coming along? And how long will the shoot last?

Oh. I meant the film you're rehearsing currently.

It's going quite well -- it's weird how everything begins to fall into place, the closer we get the shoot date. Everything (and by that I mean the technical details, the performances, the very concept of making the film, etc.) becomes less abstract with every passing day. I'll have an update on the proceedings later tonight, with some pictures...right now, I've an appointment with my DP, Nick, to watch some movies that Chris Doyle shot.
The shoot is going to last four days...but when you add up all the hours that we'll actually be shooting within that period, it feels a whole lot longer...

Sounds exciting.

The more and more I use MMS (going on 3-4 years now) the more I like it, as I delve into the many useful features and learn the rules.
Never tried Final Draft but it must be decent or it couldn't have so much of the market.
